General information only

The calculators, results, articles and other content on FitNumbra are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to provide medical advice, and they must not be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or health condition.

Results are estimates

FitNumbra calculators use published formulas such as the WHO BMI classification, the Mifflin–St Jeor equation and the U.S. Navy body-fat method. These formulas are based on population averages and produce estimates. Your actual values — for example your metabolic rate, body-fat percentage or nutritional needs — may differ, sometimes significantly.

Screening measures such as BMI do not measure health directly. They do not account for factors such as muscle mass, fat distribution, ethnicity, medical history, medications or fitness.

Talk to a professional

Always seek the advice of your doctor, a registered dietitian or another qualified healthcare professional:

  • before starting a new diet, exercise or weight-change programme;
  • if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy;
  • if you are under 18 or an older adult;
  • if you have a medical condition such as diabetes, heart, kidney or liver disease, or a history of disordered eating;
  • if you take medication that may be affected by changes in diet, weight or fluid intake.

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or calculated on FitNumbra.

In an emergency

If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

No professional relationship

Using FitNumbra does not create a doctor–patient, dietitian–client or any other professional relationship. FitNumbra is not a healthcare provider.
